This 2 hour course is for Non-Residents of Connecticut to receive their certification to apply for a Concealed Carry license in the State of Connecticut. A valid NYS or NYC Pistol License is required to enroll in this course.
Students will begin with a classroom lecture followed by shooting in the range. Upon successful completion, you will be issued a certificate of completion to submit with your non-resident Connecticut Pistol Permit Application. Student must achieve a minimum passing score of 80%.
On the range you will be required to demonstrate safety and familiarity with the safe handling of your handgun and accuracy. You must be proficient in how to draw and re-holster your handgun safely. If you cannot operate the handgun proficiently and safely, you will not pass this course. Private lessons and prep training are offered if interested.
Students are recommended to use a 10 round semi-automatic handgun. Students with less than 10 rounds will be required to perform a reload during each course of fire. Extra magazines are recommended.
- You must demonstrate safe handling of firearm and proper loading and unloading techniques.
- You must demonstrate proficiency in drawing a holstered gun from concealment, proper grip, stance, sight/target acquisition and re-holstering.
- You must demonstrate the techniques of good marksmanship.
Included: Ear and Eye Protection, Target and Range time
Ammunition is NOT included but may be available for purchase. Total of 50 rounds per student is needed for this course but it is recommended to have 100 rounds.
Dress Code: Students must wear pants with belt loops, a belt and a Strong Side Holster. Close-toed Shoes only. It is also recommended to wear a long garment to cover the holstered handgun.
Course of fire: You must qualify with 40 of 50 rounds from the 3, 7, and 15 yard line. On command, from a secured holstered position, assume the strong standing position, no time limit.
